Allicin’s Ranch is a regenerative garlic farm rooted in two pristine locations — northern Idaho and Baja California. Run by Ben and Claire Ronniger, the farm has cultivated gourmet garlic for over 23 years, embracing sustainable and ethical practices that go beyond organic.

We’re small farmers caring for land and people, raising awareness, growing nourishing food, and sharing it with love. We offer high‑quality garlic—for cooking, seed, or medicine—grown for flavor, genetics, and health. We minimize waste, tread lightly, and teach the next generation.
Our Story
Farming above the Kootenai River at 48°N taught us resilience. For 26 years we learned organic methods from my uncle David and migrated south each winter. nineteen years ago we began year‑round migrant farming after discovering a braided garlic variety. Since then we’ve grown and shared Allium sativum across the world.
Summers in North Idaho we farm small sustainable plots by hand, producing over fifty garlic varieties. In winter we travel south in our Big Red School Bus—equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell and solar panels—to harvest, clean, and braid purple soft‑neck ajo morado. Our spring braids keep excellent flavor up to a year. We distribute garlic across CA, AZ, NM, CO, WY, MT, and ID, then return to tend our patch in Idaho, —our favorite routine.

For over two decades, we’ve grown exceptional organic gourmet garlic in remote North Idaho. Our cool climate and rich, carefully balanced soils produce hardy, flavorful seed stock that stores well and thrives in most regions. What began as trial plantings has become a trusted source of premium fall garlic for growers nationwide, available online.
Winter Organic Gourmet Garlic
From Rancho Leoncito, Argentina. Harvested December 1–20, shipped February 20–May. Grown at the base of the Andes in a pristine national park, our “Leoncito” garlic offers rich flavor, excellent storage, and immune-boosting benefits during winter, available online. We strive to maintain fair prices for our customers despite rising shipping costs.
Spring Organic Gourmet Garlic
Spring Garlic from Baja, California — Available Apr 15–Aug 1, delivered by Ben’s Baja Garlic Bus, available online. Silver Skin Ajo Morado, grown organically in Baja’s mineral-rich valleys. Hand-harvested and braided; stores up to a year. Distinctive purple striping and bold flavor. We visit Baja annually to bring this garlic to customers across the western U.S.
